In the recent years, the law
enforcement agencies have adopted technologically advanced methods for the
purpose of surveillance and security. New methods and devices are cropping up,
giving the customers a wide variety to choose from. So, here are a few security
and surveillance system’s that have proven to be effective, time and again.
Security Camera
There are many types of security
cameras that are available in the market. Network IP cameras are one of them.
These cameras are connected to each other over a common Wi-Fi network, which
helps in wireless sharing of information. They facilitate high definition
recordings and video capturing capabilities, along with facial recognition
abilities. Not only that but if connected to the same network, one can access
the camera footage on their smartphones remotely through a special passkey.
They feature the option for video recording as well, with a slot for memory
card provided on the camera itself. These come in dome and bullet shaped cameras.
Video Recorders
Used widely, these cameras are
connected to an external digital video recorder or DVR, which collects the
footage. Though the entire setup may be bulky and requires a certain amount of
space, it has a high storage capacity and, thus, is ideal for home or business
security purposes. Additional sensors like facial recognition, motion sensors,
and even trip sensors can be easily attached to the original setup.
Biometrics
A relatively newer technology,
biometrics ensures the identity of the person using fingerprint, facial
recognition or 2D scans. This is much more accurate than any regular facial
recognition scan as it scans the face for unique markers, which help in
accurate identification. They have a longer viewing range and can span over
long distances. Not just that, but they also work in night vision mode, keeping
you safe during night-time as well.
Home Security System
A general home security system
includes an alarm, trip wire and motion detection. Usually connected to DVR, a
home security system may even act as a two-way tool, with the ability to
interact with the person standing on the other side.
