Know The Difference Between IP and Analog Cameras

With development in technology the surveillance system have undergone drastic changes. Today be it malls, metros, offices and houses, you will find cctv cameras in every nook and corner. This innovative product has marred many criminal activities and helped the police nab law breakers.  Thanks to the advancement in technology, these cameras have become all the smarter. As now different types of surveillance cameras are available people get confused which one to buy especially between Analog and IP cameras.
The Analog cameras have sensors that capture videos or images and the sensors generally vary from product to product. After the videos or images are captured they are sent in the traditional format through a UTP cabling to a digital video recorder, where the videos are digitized and then stored in hard drives. On the other hand IP cameras are more innovative as they broadcast the captured videos as a digital stream on an IP network. Like the analog cameras they also record the video in a hard drive but as the videos are streamed on an IP network directly from the camera, so there is flexibility as to how and where it can be recorded.  Here instead of DVR recorders NVRs (Network Video Recorder) are used.

In terms of the resolution, IP cameras are a winner as they have a high resultion. On the other hand the analog cameras have the max resolution of 580 TVL which is approximately 0.4 MP, while other cameras provide 1 MP to 29 MP resolutions and at times they are also Gigapixels. Moreover the IP cameras are more compatible with wireless network.
When it comes to pricing the IP cameras are more expensive than the analog ones and all because of their high quality and advanced features. However, today it is the IP cameras that are more popular than analogs despite being expensive.
Now that you know the difference between Analog and IP cameras, order the one that suits your requirement.
